Jump Start Academies

Get a jump on your college and career path while you're in high school.

You can take all kinds of college classes from anatomy to welding and everything in between. Whether you're aiming for a bachelor's degree at a four-year university or a two-year program right here at SCC, we've got what you need.

What is a Jump Start Academy?

SCC Jump Start Academy programs are specific college-level course plans for high school students interested in pursuing an education in specific fields of study or career paths. Students take classes that count toward a degree and allow them to explore careers.

Academies feature partnerships with employers and community organizations and provide access to resources and experiential learning opportunities. They consist of three or more courses in a career-focused series, where students learn alongside peers with similar career interests.

Some classes are offered at SCC, some online, and others are right at your high school. Many students earn a semester to a full year of college credit for free. You save money, get a head start on your education, and get to jump into your career sooner
