SCC鈥檚 Educator Prep academy prepares you to step into a number of different education pathways.
- SCC's Early Childhood Education (ECE) program is designed to prepare students to secure one of the many careers available in early childhood education.
- SCC's Elementary Education AA and Secondary Education AA degree transfer majors prepare students with a foundation in education principles and expose them to complex problems and relations in the field of education.

Where are classes offered?
Classes are held on the West Burlington Campus, Keokuk campus, and participating high schools.
How long does it take?
Academy length is two consecutive school years.
How many college credits can I earn?
Students who complete this career academy will earn up to 31 hours of college credit that will transfer to SCC's early childhood and pre-elementary education programs.
What do I get when I complete the career academy?
After successful completion of these 12 courses, a student will earn the Early Childhood Education Diploma.
What can I do after high school?
Keep going!
Students who complete this career academy are ready to step into SCC's specialized specialized transfer degree and then transfer to a number of colleges and universities to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree.
Many of these classes count towards SCC鈥檚 Elementary Education Transfer Major Associate of Arts degree.
